We are delighted to announce that the EU-funded Panj-Amu River Basin Programme has won an award for best International Development: Non-Physical Project at the 2018 British Expertise International Awards, which celebrate outstanding international achievements by companies in the UK professional services sector.

The project, which ran from 2004-2017, developed integrated water resource management in the Panj-Amu River Basin, reducing water wastage and consequently improving rural livelihoods and contributing to the overall economic recovery of Afghanistan.

We are proud of this achievement and of the project’s impact, which reflects the hard work and dedication of all of those involved, including government counterparts from the Ministry of Energy and Water, the EU Delegation to Afghanistan, and the project team.
