Visit to Panj-Amu project

Simon Foxwell (Asia/Pacific Director) recently visited the EC-financed Panj-Amu River Basin Programme in northern Afghanistan to check on progress and meet new engineers appointed to the team. This is the biggest project in the company's portfolio and a flagship project for the EC in Afghanistan. Generally progress is good although is being hampered somewhat by the deteiorating security situation. The staff have been able to continue work however, mainly due to the project's good relations with the community where we are viewed as being a neutral organisation simply assisting with improved water access for farmers.
