Call for experts – Technical Assistant for the implementation of the EU-China Policy Support Facility

About the project

The project will provide EU-funded technical assistance to support the preparation and follow-up on high-level policy dialogues and engagements across priority policy areas.

The objective of the EU-China Facility is to support the EU in impacting strategic priorities and addressing global challenges. This could involve preparing and following up on policy dialogues; technical assistance through studies and peer-to-peer exchanges of experiences; and the development of high-quality evidence, data, and analysis to allow the EU to engage effectively with Chinese stakeholders in support of strategic interests in the EU’s bilateral agenda towards China.

The project is currently at pre-tender stage.

About the role(s)

We will be seeking to recruit consultant experts with experience in one or more of:

  • Policy analysis and development – Expertise in policy analysis, development, and implementation and experience in preparing and following up on high-level policy dialogues;
  • Technical assistance and research – Proficiency in conducting technical studies and peer-to-peer exchanges and ability to develop high-quality evidence, data, and analysis;
  • Sector-specific knowledge – Experts in Environment / Climate change / Digital / Economy and Trade / Ocean Affairs / Water / Circular economy / Energy / Human rights / International development / Fisheries / Polar affairs and the law of the sea / Cosmetics / Innovation / Competition / Agriculture;
  • EU values promotion – Specialists in human rights, gender equality, democracy, security, and fair competition.

Prior experience working in China or Asia and familiarity with EU technical cooperation or facility contracts is likely to be advantageous.

The post(s) may be full or part-time, and may be short or long term.

The contract duration will be up to 48 months.
