Landell Mills co-organises discussion on Food Fortification at the European Parliament

News 16.01.20 Agriculture, fisheries, food security and nutrition

As part of the Food Fortification Advisory Services (2FAS) contract, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by Landell Mills, in partnership with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), we are organising a panel discussion on food fortification at the European Parliament (Room 3G2) in Brussels on 5th February 2020 from 13:30 to 15:00.

Food fortification, the addition of vitamins and minerals to foods to make them more nutritious, is proven to have long-lasting positive effects on peopleâs lives by reducing micronutrient deficiencies.

The discussion will focus on food fortification, its importance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, current European Commission fortification programmes and the value of continued commitment and investment. It will be hosted by MEP Mr Marc Tarabella and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Lawrence Haddad, GAIN Executive Director and 2FAS Expert.

The event is free to attend but due to the limited number of seats available, participants must register here.

2FAS was established in December 2015 to support the European Commission DEVCO-C1 and its public and private sector stakeholders to achieve sustainable food fortification programmes that are integrated into national food systems. For more information on the project you can download a flyer here.
