Senior IT/GIS/GI Expert - Technical assistance to support EU-Coffee Actions for Ethiopia

Landell Mills is looking for a Senior Expert with expertise in GIS/GI for a project in coffee value chains. The project will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Minimum requirements are a a Bachelor degree, or preferably a Master, in Geographic Information System (GIS), IS/IT, (or Geography/Environmental Science with a certificate and strong aptitude in GIS); at least 10 years of hands-on experience in developing and/or guiding use of IT/GIS/GI system and farm level agribusiness solutions for agri-business in a developing country.

Experience working with GIS software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications products suite and with Trimble software products suite is a requisite. Experience in GI system development for agricultural products and guiding farm level adoption of agribusiness management solutions is also required. Very good command of English (spoken and written) required.

The project is expected to start in January 2020 for a duration of 42 months.

Vacancy for DEVCO Evaluation Support Service: Evaluation Specialist, Brussels

Landell Mills is currently seeking a Medium/Senior Evaluation Specialist to join the Evaluation Support Service (ESS) team in Brussels.

The ESS provides technical support to the European Commission (DG DEVCO)’s Evaluation and Results Unit, both in Brussels and in EU Delegations worldwide. The Evaluation Specialist will join an active core team who are working closely with their EC counterparts on a range of assignments designed to improve evaluation systems and practices in DEVCO (e.g. evaluability assessments, methodological guidance) and improve knowledge and learning from evaluation (e.g. synthesis studies).

Team Leader - Technical assistance to support EU-Coffee Actions for Ethiopia

Relevant experience in data handling analysis GI and cartography for agriculture monitoring and statistics is also required. Familiarity with EU development policies, processes, procedures, methods and tools in general is requisite. Very good command of English (spoken and written) required.

The project is expected to start in January 2020 and for a duration of 42 months.

Team Leader: Advisory Services for Resilient Agri-Food Systems – ASRAFS

Expert Team for Technical Assistance to the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States for the Management of the ACP-EU Programme to strengthen Research and Innovation capacity in ACP countries

Landell Mills International has been shortlisted for the ACP-EU Programme to strengthen Research and Innovation capacity in ACP countries. The Technical Assistance Unit will have four team members and be based in Brussels. The project is expected to start in February 2020 with a duration of five years.

The programme is aiming at unlocking the inclusive innovation potential of ACP countries and support their transition into knowledge-based economies. This will be done through 3 interlinked components:

  • The ACP Research and Innovation Policy Support Facility;

  • The ACP Innovation Pilots Fund; and

  • The ACP Research and Innovation Hub.

The Technical Assistance Unit, will support with the implementation of the programme, more specifically with:

-        Administrative, financial and technical management of the programme and related grant contracts;

-        Establishment and Operationalisation of the ACP Research and Innovation Hub;

-        Communication and Visibility Strategy;

-        Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.

International Resettlement Specialist

Landell Mills has been awarded an exciting Transaction Technical Assistance project in Punjab province in Pakistan entitled ‘TRTA 9458-PAK: Preparing the Greater Thal Canal Irrigation Investment Program’ with the Asian Development Bank. The project looks to prepare an investment program to assess the feasibility of a large irrigation scheme.

Landell Mills is looking for international specialists in the emerging area of disaster risk management to work on our agriculture and water portfolios on behalf on a range of clients (Asian Development Bank in particular) in the Asia-Pacific region. 

The specialist will have a post graduate degree in environmental science or natural resource management (or related) with training in climate change impacts with at least 10 years of experience working in climate change adaptation and/or disaster risk reduction. Experience of working in Asia would be an advantage. Preference will be given to specialists who have experience of disaster risk management for national agencies (for example, the USA based Federal Emergency Management Agency, and UK based Civil Contingencies Secretariat), as well as those with experience of managing or advising on community-led disaster management/response initiatives.
