Call for experts: Senior Fisheries Management / Scientific Expert, and consultants
Due to recent business development opportunities, we're looking to recruit experts in the area of fisheries management and governance.
About the project
The European Union Delegation in Mauritius is procuring a technical assistance team to support the implementation of activities under two Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs):
- the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
- the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA), an autonomous international agreement tasked with managing non-migratory fisheries resources in the Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction
This support is part of the Sustainable Western Indian Ocean Programme (SWIOP).
About the roles
To ensure implementation of the IOTC and SIOFA components of the SWIOP, we're seeking to recruit high-calibre consultants to provide technical assistance at administrative and implementation levels to the IOTC and SIOFA Secretariats; enabling effective and efficient implementation of RFMO project outputs, tasks and work plans.
The roles include:
- Senior Fisheries Management / Scientific Expert
- Consultants in stock assessment, ecological risk assessment, fisheries data and information technology, training and capacity development of fisheries governance structures, and fisheries governance and compliance, etc.
