About the project
The European Union Delegation in Mauritius is procuring a technical assistance team to support the implementation of activities under two Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs): the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (IOTC / FAO) and Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA), an autonomous international agreement tasked with managing non-migratory fisheries resources in the Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction. This support is part of the Sustainable Western Indian Ocean Programme (SWIOP).
About the roles
We are seeking to recruit high calibre consultants to provide technical assistance at administrative and implementation levels to the IOTC and SIOFA Secretariats to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the project outputs, tasks and work plans of the RFMOs to ensure implementation of the IOTC and SIOFA components of the SWIOP.
The roles include:
- Key Expert – Senior Fisheries Management / Scientific Expert
- Consultants in stock assessment, ecological risk assessment, fisheries data and IT, training and capacity development of fisheries governance structures, and fisheries governance and compliance, etc.
