Landell Mills shortlisted for the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Project Excellence Awards 2026

We’re pleased that Landell Mills’ Africa RISE (Reform for Investment and Sustainable Economies) project has been shortlisted for the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Project Excellence Awards in the Social / Regional Development / Community Service Projects category.

The category recognises projects that use effective project management to address social needs, support meaningful change and deliver sustainable value for communities.

Africa RISE was a European Union-funded €14 million demand-driven facility that supported sustainable investment and decent, inclusive jobs across Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean. Working with the EU, governments, the private sector and civil society, the facility responded to requests for targeted technical assistance aligned with the EU’s Global Gateway priorities.

During implementation, Africa RISE received 245 requests and successfully completed 101 assignments. These covered investment climate reform, sustainable value chains, green and circular economy initiatives and public-private dialogue – all closely linked to the EU’s Global Gateway priorities and to Landell Mills’ wider work on sustainable economic development. Examples included mobilising investment for biotechnology and pharmaceutical value chains in Mauritius, supporting trade-enabling port and logistics reforms in Seychelles, and developing enterprise support mechanisms for green SMEs through Zambia’s GREEN Tech4CE programme.

The IPMA Global Awards were established in 2002 and recognise outstanding project management by individuals, projects and organisations. The awards use the IPMA Project Excellence Model, as set out in the IPMA Project Excellence Baseline, to assess projects and programmes across three core areas:

  • People & Purpose
  • Processes & Resources
  • Project Results

The winners will be announced at the IPMA Global Awards Gala Ceremony in Hiroshima, Japan, on Friday 18 September 2026, marking the closing of the 35th IPMA World Congress.
