Landell Mills wins silver in the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Project Excellence Awards 2026
We’re delighted to announce that Landell Mills’ Africa RISE (Reform for Investment and Sustainable Economies) project has won silver in the Social / Regional Development / Community Service Project category at the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Project Excellence Awards. The award recognises projects that use effective project management to address social needs, support meaningful change and deliver sustainable value for communities.
The winners were announced on Friday 18 September at the IPMA Awards Gala in Hiroshima, Japan, the concluding event of the 35th IPMA World Congress. More than 400 members of the international project management community attended the event, celebrating outstanding achievements in project excellence from around the world.
Funded by the European Union, the €14 million Africa RISE facility provided demand-driven support for sustainable investment and decent, inclusive jobs across Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean. Working with the EU, governments, the private sector and civil society, it delivered targeted technical assistance in response to locally identified needs and in line with the EU’s Global Gateway priorities.
Over its 48-month duration, Africa RISE received 245 requests for support and successfully completed 101 assignments. These focused on areas including investment climate reform, sustainable value chains, green and circular economy initiatives, and public-private dialogue. The work contributed directly to the EU’s Global Gateway priorities while reinforcing Landell Mills’ commitment to sustainable economic development.
