About the opportunity
The Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement is a collaborative global nutrition advocacy platform for 67 countries and four Indian States, collectively known as the SUN countries. Its SUN 4.0 Strategy looks to “future-proof” global nutrition action in response to worsening malnutrition, climate change, fragility, declining aid, and weak integration into broader development agendas. Its specific objectives are:
- to strengthen and sustain strong policy and advocacy environments.
- to enhance sustainability, knowledge management, and capacity strengthening.
- to increase sustainable financing for nutrition.
About the role
This is a part-time position (60 days across 18 months) in a key expert role, with potential to be included in short-term technical assistance missions with additional non-key expert days. Responsibilities include:
- Provide on-demand technical assistance and capacity development support to nutrition stakeholders in SUN partner countries on topics including nutrition, the climate and gender nexus, and integrated climate- and gender-sensitive nutrition action (e.g. strategy development, technical advice, and advocacy and policy advice) and programme implementation (e.g. programme design and guidance notes).
- Prepare technical inputs for communication products such as policy briefs, handouts, presentations, blog posts, and lessons learned documents.
- Contribute to the development of project Terms of References (ToRs) based on country needs, stakeholder feedback, and emerging priorities.
- In the case of being asked to take over a team leader role, coordinate with a team of short-term experts, including identifying short-term expertise needs, planning missions, and carrying out quality assurance of deliverables.
